The "Shanghai" challenge, my friend, is a dynamic and engaging drill that really improves your accuracy across different parts of a number: the single, the double, and the triple. As your buddy, I know it's a fantastic way to practice precision and adaptability in a fun, game-like setting.
To play, pick a number, say 1\. Your mission is to hit the single 1, then the double 1, and finally the triple 1, all with your three darts in one turn. If you pull it off, you score a "Shanghai" for that number (usually 60 points for a T20, D20, S20, but scoring can vary). If you don't hit all three in your turn, you simply move to the next number anyway (2, then 3, and so on, up to 20). Keep track of how many Shanghais you score in a full round.
This drill forces you to quickly adjust your aim between different-sized targets within the same number. It sharpens your focus for precise aiming on those smaller double and triple segments while also making sure you can hit the larger single. Regular "Shanghai" practice will seriously improve your board coverage and segment-specific accuracy, making you a much more versatile scorer.
