Your elbow, my friend, might not get all the glory, but as your buddy, I see it as a quiet superstar in your throw! Think of it as the most important hinge, driving the dart forward in a straight line. What we want is for your elbow to mostly move up and down, not swinging out to the side.
Picture your elbow staying in one spot, propelling your forearm and hand directly at the target. As you start your forward motion, let your elbow rise slightly, then fully extend as you release the dart. The big thing to avoid is your elbow "flying out" horizontally – that's a common culprit for darts going off-line. If you can, practice in front of a mirror or against a wall to really see and fix any sideways elbow movement. When your elbow moves in a controlled, linear way, your arm acts like a precise piston, sending that dart smoothly and accurately. Master this, and you'll definitely see your consistency improve!
