The 'Bob's 27' Drill: Advanced Double Practice

My friend, Bob's 27 is a famous and incredibly effective dart drill specifically designed to make you a double-hitting machine and handle pressure like a pro. As your coach, I know it's tough, but super rewarding, and it really simulates game-like scenarios.

You start with 27 points. Your mission is to hit each double in order, from D1 all the way up to D20, and then the Bullseye. You get three darts per turn for the current double.

If you hit the double with one dart, you add that double's value to your score (e.g., D1 \= \+2 points).

If you miss with all three darts, you subtract 27 points from your score. The game ends either when you successfully hit all the doubles up to the Bullseye, or when your score drops to zero or below.

That penalty for missing makes this drill incredibly tense, just like having to hit a double to avoid losing a leg. It forces you to focus intensely on each double, teaching you to perform when a significant setback is on the line. Regularly playing Bob's 27 will expose your weakest doubles and dramatically improve your finishing consistency. You'll thank me later!
