Leg-End Drills: Simulating Game Pressure

Practice routines are super important, my friend, but sometimes they lack that critical element of game pressure. As your coach, I've got "Leg-End Drills" designed to simulate those high-stakes moments of finishing a game, forcing you to perform in conditions that feel like a real match.

A common Leg-End Drill is "Checkout from X with N Darts." For example, start yourself on 100 points, and give yourself a limited number of darts (say, 6 darts) to finish it. If you don't finish, you restart the drill. You can adjust the starting score and dart limit to match your current skill level. Another great variation is "Last Dart Double." Practice throwing two darts to set up a specific double (like hitting T20, S20 to leave D20), and then throw your third dart with the explicit pressure that you must hit that double to "win."

These drills build mental toughness and teach you to perform when it really matters. They highlight your weaknesses under pressure – maybe you rush your throws, or your arm tightens. By repeatedly putting yourself in these simulated pressure situations in practice, you'll become less nervous and build confidence for actual match situations.
