The dart's release point, my friend – that exact split second the dart leaves your fingers – is absolutely critical for its trajectory and accuracy. Even a tiny fraction of a second off can send your dart wide, too low, or too high.
The perfect release happens right as your arm is fully extending towards your target, with that nice wrist snap propelling the dart. It should feel like the dart is effortlessly "flying" off your fingertips, not like you're forcing it or pushing it. Focus on a smooth, continuous acceleration right through the release. If your darts are consistently landing low, you might be releasing a bit too early. If they're flying high, you might be releasing too late, or adding a little "flick." Try some slow-motion throws to really feel and identify your natural release point, and then work to make it consistent. Mastering this timing is foundational for hitting your targets every time.
